Madam Flod Crêperie – The Famous Floating Crêperie Comes to Singapore
Madam Flod Crêperie, which started as a floating crêperie aboard a boat in the Stockholm Archipelago, has come ashore in Singapore at a permanent spot in Boat Quay. The founder and first captain of the boat comes from Bretagne, home of the crêpe and galette, and the restaurant is a testament to passion and traditional craftsmanship.
Begin with a starter like the Terrine de canard: a lightly-smoked duck terrine with salad and cornichons, served with a side of butter-toasted sourdough for easy dipping. The signature galette, a savoury pancake made from gluten-free buckwheat flour, is a perfectly savoury, crispy brunch dish: try the Ham & Cheese, a quintessentially French medley of ham, emmental, chèvre, vinaigrette, butter-roasted walnut and honey. There’s even a Ratatouille galette on the menu, served with runny egg yolk and chorizo sausage for extra heartiness.
Sweet crêpes include the Sugar, Butter and Lemon, a harmony of flavours that enhance a simple crispy crêpe, and the Chocolate Ganache, with roasted almond topping. The Singapore-exclusive Pandan Kaya balances a rich coconut flavour with airy whipped cream. The drinks menu spans various French wines, Breton ciders, and light cocktails like the Madam Fleur with elderflower liqueur and white wine.
Madam Flod Singapore is located at 47 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058680. To book a table, send a message on WhatsApp to (+65) 8933 6953.

Average Service – An Adorable New Cafe in Singapore For Brunch
Well, maybe it’s not exactly new, but Average Service still draws crowds like it opened yesterday: if you’d like a casual cafe brunch in a relaxed setting, this is the place to be. This cafe opened in January 2025 in the very busy Jalan Besar, with an adorable retro theme and a menu of hearty brunch dishes and cocktails. It’s almost a cross between a Nanyang coffee house and an Australian cafe, with its shiny blue flooring and communal seating.
Mains and brunch dishes are available from 11 am, and include unconventional pasta dishes like the Mentaiko Handkerchief Pasta and Aglio Olio with Seared Scallops: the latter involves a heavy dose of garlic and chilli padi for a comforting kick of spice. The signature dish, the Thick Slab Bacon, takes inspiration from brunch cafes in Bangkok: an open-faced sourdough sandwich smothered in buttery scrambled eggs, topped with a slice of bacon that resembles a small steak.
The extensive drink menu features coffee and tea-based drinks, cocktails and mocktails. The cafe does a version of the classic Yuen Yeung, a Hong Kong-style drink that mixes milk tea with coffee, that has a base of espresso and Oolong. Cocktails are tea-based and refreshing: the Honey Wild combines gin, white ginger pear tea, mint, lemon, ginger and honey for an enjoyably light drink. The Caramel City Girls, whisky with black tea, cocoa, caramel and milk, has a dessert-like richness.
Average Service is located at 315 Jalan Besar, Singapore 208973.

Godmama – Peranakan Brunch in Singapore For Relaxed Afternoons
Now here’s a brunch you’ve not seen before: Godmama’s Peranakan Brunch takes a spin on a cuisine already perfect for gathering over. This homey modern Nyonya kitchen was Best New Restaurant of the Year by Diners’ Choice back when it opened in 2019, and reimagines classic Peranakan fare in a series of sharing plates, brunch mains, and innovative cocktails.
Alongside more traditional dishes like ayam buah keluak, sambal udang and babi pongteh, Godmama has created fusion dishes for the brunch menu that introduce pasta and pancakes to the Nyonya palate. Big plates include the Buah Keluak Bolognese Pasta, linguine tossed in spicy black nut paste, and the Gerang Assam Seafood Stew, a delightfully tangy seafood broth with sourdough on the side. The Durian Pengat Buttermilk Pancakes, a true behemoth of a brunch dish, is a stack of fluffy pancakes topped with coconut milk-durian compote, vanilla bean ice cream and coconut crumble.
Alongside specialty coffees and teas, including a luscious Pandan Latte and Musang King Coffee, the restaurant has designed a line of “Proudly Peranakan Inspired Cocktails”. These include the likes of the Emperor of Melaka, an old-fashioned with gula melaka; the butterfly pea gin and tonic Peranakan Blue; and the Bunga Kantan Martini with ginger flower.
