Where to Go for a Family Friendly Holiday in Thailand

Holiday Inn Vana Nava in Hua Hin has an integrated water theme park, kids’ club, wellness spa, family suite, and more

Thinking about your next family holiday and where to bring the kids? Hua Hin is about a 3-hour drive from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi international airport and is known for its sandy white beaches along with stunning mountainscape. While there are a number of well-known hotel brands in this town, there’s only one with an integrated water theme park that even comes with unlimited complimentary entry during your hotel stay!

Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava recently celebrated its official grand opening and the resort boasts a wide range of facilities perfect for families with kids or for couples’ romantic getaways. While there are so many things to do within the resort itself, a 10-minute drive will bring you to Cicada Night Market, Bluport Shopping Mall, and Takiab Beach.

Here are a few things we absolutely loved about the resort.

1. Water Jungle Theme Park

The water theme park is right next to the hotel and boasts 20 world-class slides. Simply head down to the ground floor with your unique RFID wristband, which gives you access to the park and can be used to unlock rooms as well as make payments.

Suitable for all ages, the theme park has rides for everyone including a lazy pool, a wave pool, thrilling slides, and a number of kids’ corners. Just by the wave pool, is a bar with cool cabana vibes where they serve divine margheritas.

2. Infinity Pool

The hotel’s iconic 26-metre long infinity pool is located on the 26th floor and offers breathtaking views of the ocean and even has a pool bar! Sip on beers and cocktails while your kids can enjoy swimming and using the kids’ slide. If you’re an early riser, head to the pool in the morning to catch a gorgeous sunrise over the Gulf of Thailand.

3. KidSuites

Making the stay fun and convenient for the whole family, the hotel offers special KidsSuites perfect for families with small kids. The suite comes with interconnecting rooms and kids’ rooms designed with bunk beds and colourful play areas, while the adults get a bright and contemporary space of their own. Each room comes with a spacious balcony with lounge chairs and lots of natural sunlight.

4. Kids’ Club

Happy kids make for happy parents and trust us when we say you’ll fall in love with the resort once your kids have visited the Kids’ Club. Appealing to all ages, the club has a child-safe play area as well as fun and interactive activity zones.

5. Tea Tree Spa & 24-Hour Fitness Centre

While your kids are occupied with activities at the Kids’ Club, take the opportunity to unwind and relax at the Tea Tree Spa. Step into the tranquil sanctuary and let the therapists work their magic. Treatments include body massages, facials, scrubs, foot reflexology, and therapy baths.

What’s more, the Fitness Centre with state-of-the-art facilities is open 24 hours, available to use anytime of the day!

6. Observation Sky Deck & Bar

The Vana Nava Sky Bar and Observation Deck is a must-visit for all visitors to Hua Hin. The observation deck is 110 metres above the ground and features an exhilarating glass-bottom deck as well as panoramic views to enjoy a golden sunset over the hills in the west.

Located on the 27th floor, the rooftop Sky Bar has been designed by Ashley Sutton, the mastermind behind some of Asia’s most famous bars. The exquisite cocktail menu features creative cocktails by renowned mixsultant Joseph Boroski including signature drinks Thai Urban Long Island Tea and Authentic Cuban Mojito.

7. Plamong Restaurant

Have we mentioned the best part yet? Kids under 12 years of age can stay and dine for free from the Kids Menu! Breakfast buffet and all-day dining is offered at the Plamong Restaurant where you can find a variety of cuisines including authentic local Thai dishes. Watch the chefs in action preparing mouth-watering dishes at the live stations.
