In an expeditious city like Singapore, we often resort to activities that help us take the load off the day - whiskies and cigars could be just some of them. Cigar smoking is all about comfort and giving relaxed attention to the little things in life, while whiskies aid in unwinding from the fast-paced world.
Now imagine if you can have your much cherished whisky and cigar together with favoured food like pizza, pasta and more. 10 years-long and standing, our go-to Italian restaurant, Ricciotti has launched a new addition to their menu this month. Namely a whisky and cigar bar.
Ricciotti and its new RB bar aims to put together the two amazing experiences under one roof. Considering that Italian dining is often paired with wine rather than whisky, we asked Ottavio Gori, Managing Director of Ricciotti as to why they decided to introduce the whisky and cigar bar. He said, “RB Whisky & Cigar Bar stems from the vision to pair 2 great traditions such as the Italian cuisine and whisky. Both traditions have been a source of new ideas and experiments along the lines of innovations and creativity, which in F&B never stops. Experimental pairings are rather unprecedented in the Italian tradition.”
The bar boasts over 80 whisky labels comprising of 17 Japanese, 3 Taiwanese, 8 Bourbons and the rest of the 52 are all Scotch from Islay, Speyside and Highland. “The aim is not to be the greatest whisky bar in Singapore but rather to be a venue where the essence of whisky culture is complemented by great food, great service and great music,” said Ottavio.
Cigar aficionados also have a reason to drop by Ricciotti now, they have a selection of Cuba’s finest cigars. Making sure not to forget their Italian roots, they have also added in a great Italian cigar called Antico Nostrano del Brenta. With soft aromas that tickle your palate, this cigar is akin to Carribean cigars. Hand made with tobacco originating from habana seeds grown in Italy, it ignites smooth and flawless smokes.
Ricciotti is simply giving us more reasons to keep coming back to this amazing spot by the river. Perhaps it’s the fact that every time we walk into this restaurant, the team truly manages to make us “feel at home.” With constant innovation and blending of the best of different worlds, Ricciotti still ensures that the character of each culture stays true to its roots.
Ricciotti is located at 20 upper circular road, B1-49/50 The Riverwalk, Singapore 058416. Call them at +65 6533 9060 to make your reservations.
