Centara Reserve Samui Review: The Ultimate Luxury Escape on Chaweng Beach
Read our review on Centara Reserve Samui. Explore luxury suites, private Reserve Hosts, fine dining and Samui's best Sunday brunch at Salt Society.
Award-winning Centara Reserve Samui has effortlessly cemented its status as one of Koh Samui's most sought-after beachfront sanctuaries. Nestled within lush tropical gardens at the tranquil, secluded northern end of Chaweng Beach, this discreet hideaway strikes the perfect balance between serene isolation and easy accessibility — just a 15-minute drive from Samui International Airport.
Unlike many beachfront hotels on the island, Centara Reserve offers a genuinely personalised experience from the moment you arrive: a beautifully choreographed welcome ritual featuring local customs, refreshing tropical elements, and vibrant flowers sets the tone for everything that follows.
What Are the Rooms Like at Centara Reserve Samui?
With different room types to choose from, there is a perfect fit for every travel style:
- Deluxe Ocean: A fantastic, high-end entry-level choice featuring breathtaking sea views.
- Deluxe Pool Access: An absolute dream if you’re traveling with kids, friends, or a group, thanks to the shared pool steps from your door.

Our Stay: The Luxury Garden Suite
We stayed in the Luxury Garden Suite and absolutely loved it. Spanning an impeccable 81 square meters, the suite overlooks the property’s lush gardens and out toward the ocean. It features a deep soaking bathtub, a rainfall shower, and the dedicated service of your own personal "Reserve Host." With a super king-size bed and a plush daybed, it comfortably sleeps up to three adults (or two adults and two children).
Vanilla Luxury Tip: Centara Reserve Samui has a concept called “Reserve Time”, where they offer 24-hour check-in and check-out subject to availability. This means you get a full 24 hours from the exact moment you arrive, a massive bonus for flexible flight scheduling!
World-Class Pools & Beachfront Leisure
Centara Reserve Samui features an array of picture-perfect swimming pools designed for every type of traveler:
- The Family Hub: At the heart of the resort is a stunning, free-form beachfront pool complete with relaxing whirlpools, a dedicated kids' zone, and a vibrant wet playground.
- The Main Pool: Offers a seamless full-service experience. You can swim right up to the pool bar for a refreshing cocktail, dine at the integrated pool restaurant, or order refreshments directly to your plush daybed.
- Adults-Only Infinity Pool: For those seeking a quieter escape, this serene pool directly faces the beach and the open ocean. Just steps away, you will find reserved sun loungers lined along the sand with dedicated security, ensuring a peaceful and private beach day.
Reserve Spa Cenvaree: A Sanctuary of Bliss
The Reserve Spa Cenvaree is designed around the concept of curating your own meaningful wellness journey. Set against the natural beauty of Koh Samui, the spa combines luxurious surroundings with local ingredients, aromatic oils, and therapeutic herbs.
The top-tier facilities feature:
- 5 single multi-function treatment rooms
- 2 couples' suites complete with private Jacuzzis
- A dedicated Beauty Bar for facials and nails
- A relaxation conservatory, steam room, sauna, and communal Jacuzzi
What we absolutely loved was how distinct and thoughtful the spa offerings were compared to typical resort menus. Here are a few standout rituals:
- Ocean Tranquillity: Begins with a meditative breathing exercise that mimics the ebb and flow of ocean waves. It uses a brilliant blue chamomile essential oil massaged into the skin via Aromatherapy and Lomi-Lomi techniques, finishing with turquoise stones anointed along the face and scalp's shiatsu points.
- Echoes of the Past: A deeply spiritual treatment using handpicked crystals to release blocked energy and balance your chakras. It pairs a gentle, circulation-boosting body massage with a Rose Quartz Crystal facial compression.
- Healing Touch: The ultimate stress-reliever combining sound therapy and bodywork using Tibetan singing bowls to reduce anxiety and an aromatherapy massage to release physical tension.
The Holistic Healer Experience: Keerana Sripongpankul
Beyond the standard menu, the spa features Keerana (Kae), a gifted resident master who specialises in energy reading and chakra alignment. Her signature healings are truly transformative:
- Rhythm of Energy: Keerana reads and channels energy to identify and relieve physical or emotional blockages. By guiding you into a deep, alpha-brainwave state of relaxation, she uses Tibetan singing bowls to harmonize the water levels within your body.
- Chakra Balancing: Focusing on the seven major energy centers along the spine, Keerana channels pure energy through her hands to align your physical and emotional body.
- Energy Enhancing (7 Full Moon Singing Bowl): This session utilizes precious oils to activate subtle energy flow, enhanced by the restorative sound vibrations of seven specialized singing bowls to cleanse the mind.
What Restaurants Are at Centara Reserve Samui?
Centara Reserve Samui features five distinct dining venues, each with its own character and cuisine style. Guests are invited to indulge in innovative Thai delicacies at Sa-Nga, appreciate dramatic culinary masterpieces at ACT 5, or enjoy creative mixology concoctions at The Gin Run and the casual Pool Bar.
The Terrace: Refined Global Cuisine
Inviting at any time of day, The Terrace serves fresh global cuisine and international comfort food in a relaxed, convivial, piazza-style setting.
The daily breakfast buffet is hosted here, featuring an impressive, rotating selection of local Thai dishes such as a rich Wagyu beef noodle soup, Moo Ping (grilled pork skewers), custom Thai omelets, and authentic Thai iced coffee and tea. For those with a sweet tooth, the menu features banana splits, pancakes, French toast, and striking black-and-white waffles alongside healthy juice shots, fine cheeses, and charcuterie.
Beyond the buffet, you can order made-to-order à la carte specialties like a Salmon Ikura Bagel, Oven-Truffled Mushrooms, Shakshuka, classic Eggs Benedict, and an excellent Smashed Avocado toast.
For lunch, we highly recommend diving into their authentic Thai Green Curry or the vibrant, spicy Southern Crab Curry. If you are craving Western comfort food, they also dish up exceptional Italian favorites like Spaghetti alle Vongole with sweet clams, rich squid ink spaghetti, and luxury beachside classics like lobster rolls, burgers, and artisan pizzas.
Sa-Nga: The Best Thai Fine Dining in Koh Samui
Sa-Nga redefines traditional Thai cuisine by blending timeless flavors with innovative culinary artistry. It is, without question, one of the finest Thai restaurants in Koh Samui, delivering gastronomical Thai cuisine that honors local ingredients (including five varieties of rice) while presenting them in an elevated, contemporary format.
We opted for the Elegant Sharing Set Menu for Two with Wine Pairing, an exceptional experience from start to finish:
- Khao Yum Sa-Nga — organic green jasmine rice with fresh herbs, roots, spices, fish sauce, and palm sugar; a spectacular burst of flavors
- Goong Chom Jan — raw blue prawns with a refreshing spicy granita, mulberry, and crispy garlic
- Nuea Ded Deaw — sun-dried beef with grilled sticky rice; subtle sweetness and heat in perfect balance (Paired with Whispering Angel rosé)
- Tom Yum Lay — a seafood-rich tom yum soup (paired with a Chablis; the mineral-forward Chardonnay beautifully softens the sharp acidity)
- Mutcha Lakson — flawlessly grilled white snapper
- Gaeng Rawaeng Nuea — rich Wagyu beef flank curry (paired with a Lander Jenkins Pinot Noir from California — the standout pairing of the evening)
- Saku Lamyai — delicate tapioca pudding with longan, coconut, and pandan (paired with Zonin Prosecco)
Salt Society Beach Bar & Kitchen (The Best Sunday Brunch in Koh Samui)
When we searched for the best Sunday brunch in Samui, Salt Society consistently ranked at the top of the recommendations. Effortlessly cool with a touch of understated elegance, this chic beachfront bar and kitchen celebrates fresh seafood, fine wines, and creative cocktails paired with soulful live music and DJ beats.
Every Sunday from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, you can feast on an endless selection of fresh seafood, premium barbecue selections, artisanal cheeses, cold cuts, handcrafted pastas, and decadent desserts.
