A 12-minute LED mask for glow, texture and breakouts
TheraFace Mask Glo has launched in Singapore, joining the wave of at-home LED masks now showing up everywhere, from bathroom shelves to social feeds.
Not convinced yet? I get it. These beauty gadgets promise brighter, clearer, firmer-looking skin, but plenty come with a catch. Some feel bulky or worse, exciting for a week before ending up forgotten in a corner for the rest of the year.
So when Therabody launched the TheraFace Mask Glo, I wondered if it would feel different. This newer, less pricey model promises full-face LED treatment in just 12 minutes, with a gentle vibration feature designed to make the experience feel more relaxing.
For anyone already spending on facials, serums and glow-boosting skincare, the real question is not just what the mask does. Instead whether it can earn a place in a routine that already has plenty going on.

What the TheraFace Mask Glo Does
On paper, the TheraFace Mask Glo sounds like it covers most of what people look for in an at-home LED device. It uses 504 medical-grade LEDs and offers three modes, each aimed at a different concern.
Red light at 633 nm is used to target fine lines, uneven tone and overall skin texture. Blue light at 415 nm focuses on acne-causing bacteria, so it makes sense for anyone dealing with recurring breakouts. There is also a combined red and infrared mode at 633 nm and 830 nm, which is intended to support collagen production and improve firmness over time.
The mask is designed to cover the full face, including areas around the eyes and mouth that other devices often miss. Each session runs for 12 minutes, or less if preferred, and the cordless design makes it easy to fit into a normal routine.
Clinical testing forms a large part of the product’s positioning. In a 12-week study based on daily use, 87% of participants reported smoother, tighter skin, 86% saw more radiant and rejuvenated skin, and 80% noticed visible improvement in fine lines.

Using the TheraFace Mask Glo in Real Life
The TheraFace Mask Glo feels easy from the start. There is no real learning curve or lengthy set-up. I just put it on, adjusted the straps and let it run for the full 12-minute cycle. The cordless design feels refreshing, with no need to sit around a plug point or change your routine around a wire.
There is also a built-in massage function. Therabody’s VibraWave technology adds a light vibration through the mask, which does not affect the LED treatment itself but does make the experience feel more comfortable. I also liked that it can be switched off, so if all you want is the LED session, it’s as easy as a button press.

Fit and Feel of the TheraFace Mask Glo
Fit is usually the first thing that makes or breaks an LED mask for me, because if it is awkward, heavy or pressing into the face in strange places, I already know I am not going to keep reaching for it.
This one surprised me with its weight. It felt lighter than its sturdy build suggests and fit like it had been shaped to sit on the face rather than just against it. It did not dig into my nose or lean heavily on my forehead either. I also liked the panels around the eyes, which made it feel a bit more secure and comfortable in that area.
Honestly, it was comfortable enough that if there were no timer, I would probably have left it on for longer than 12 minutes.
The VibraWave function is subtle, but I like having it on. Think of it as a low-hum, steady vibration while the mask is running. It does not change the treatment itself, but it does make the whole thing feel a little less like a skincare task and a little more like downtime. That said, I have also used the mask without the vibration while on work mode.

During the Treatment
There’s very little you feel once the mask is on, with no major heat or intense sensation. At first, it almost feels like nothing is happening. Aside from the obvious glow (light) coming through the mask, and the fact that everyone at home suddenly wants to take a photo of you, the treatment itself is very easy to sit through.
Once I tightened the straps to fit, I could get through a full session without really thinking about it. I wore it while watching Young Sherlock on the sofa and that, to me, is the biggest selling point. No wires or awkward angles, all while doing something as effortless as catching up on some ‘me time’.
As with a growing number of devices that I own, the first few uses are easy. After that, it comes down to habit. I wanted to use the mask more often, but I also tried to hold back a bit because the recommendation is to start slowly and build up towards daily use.
What I liked was that it never felt like a chore. The only real challenge was remembering to be consistent, which is probably true of any LED device.

Did I See Results?
I have not seen any dramatic change yet, and I would be suspicious if I had. That said, there are definitely some subtle signs emerging. My skin felt slightly dry after using it, almost a bit thirsty, so I found myself reaching for hydrating products afterwards.
Texture does seem slightly better, and (surprisingly) I’ve not had my usual period breakouts this cycle. I cannot say that is entirely down to the mask just yet, but it's a change I’ve noticed.
So far, the mask feels like a product that works through smaller shifts rather than instant payoff.

TheraFace Mask Glo – a Few Tips I’d Recommend
If you have decided to try the TheraFace Mask Glo, a few tips can come in handy. I found it easiest to use before bed, while watching something or reading, because it slots into that wind-down part of the evening without asking much from you. I also store it near my bed so I don’t get lazy with the routine.
The battery life has been excellent. I still have not needed to recharge it. It’s one less thing to think about.
The straps are comfortable, but it is worth taking a minute to adjust them properly because that changes the whole experience. Once the fit is right, you barely notice the mask is on.
Because my skin felt drier afterwards, I would pair it with hydrating skincare and keep stronger actives, especially retinol, on pause for a while. And sunscreen stays non-negotiable, as always.
Not recommended by the brand, but I have also started using it over my scalp hoping for some much-needed red light motivation for those follicles.

Final Thoughts
The TheraFace Mask Glo takes barely any effort to use. It makes at-home skincare easier in every way. I can put it on, get on with my evening and not feel like I am doing something overly clinical or high maintenance.
It is still too early for me to say it can replace facials, but as a device that feels easy to reach for, comfortable to wear and promising enough to keep using, it has made a strong first impression. Time will tell, but this one has staying power.
The TheraFace Mask Glo is available for S$549 from Therabody Singapore, Takashimaya Department Store, Tangs Orchard, Lazada Singapore, Shopee Singapore, Krisshop.com, Metapod Singapore and, Weareready Singapore.
