Fragrance just got a new best friend and it's gelatinous
Big on the jelly perfume trend? Solid perfume is actually one of the oldest formats in existence. Ancient Egyptians were pressing scented waxes and resins onto skin long before the atomiser was even a concept. What's new in 2026 is the texture: bouncy, skin-nourishing jelly balms that you swipe directly onto pulse points, no spray required.
For Singapore, the appeal is obvious. In a climate where humidity can amplify or flatten a spray within minutes, jelly perfumes diffuse slowly and in harmony with your skin. There’s no sharp alcohol blast, just a clean, warm, skin-fused scent from the first swipe.
Alcohol-free, travel-friendly, and impossibly tactile, jelly perfumes are fragrance's most exciting evolution—here's where to start.
Sol de Janeiro Jelly Perfume Balm – 1000 Swipes Per Nifty, Little Stick
If you’re a Sol de Janeiro fan, this launch is right up your fragrance-layering-alley.
Sol de Janeiro's Jelly Perfume Balm is the Brazilian brand's first-ever solid fragrance, in three of its most iconic Cheirosa scents. Reimagined in a twist-up stick that glides on with a translucent, non-sticky finish this jelly delivers up to 10 hours of wear. Made with the same premium fragrance oils as the brand's cult-favourite perfume mists, the alcohol-free formula melts seamlessly into skin, building a close-to-body scent that intensifies with warmth.
The line launches in Cheirosa 62 (pistachio, salted caramel, vanilla), the sunny gourmand inspired by 1962, the year Brazil introduced the world to The Girl from Ipanema. Then there's Cheirosa 68 (Brazilian jasmine, pink dragonfruit, ocean air), a vibrant floral nodding to the Tropicália movement's spirit of creative freedom. Completing the trio is Cheirosa 40 (black amber plum, jasmine blooms, vanilla woods), a sultry nighttime floral rooted in the glamour of Rio's legendary carnival. Each stick layers beautifully with the matching Cheirosa mist for extended longevity and comes with a custom clip-on keychain for all-day access. With up to 1,000 swipes per stick, this is the cutest balm to flaunt right now.
Who it's for: Sol de Janeiro devotees and anyone who loves jelly formats.
Available at: Sol de Janeiro Jelly Perfume Balm is priced at $43 and available at Sephora Singapore (online and in-stores).
Dior J'Adore L'Or Solid Perfume – Couture J’adore on the Go
J'adore L'Or gets its most travel-friendly reinvention yet in this alcohol-free solid perfume stick that delivers the full intensity of the iconic solar floral directly onto skin. The formula is infused with jasmine wax that melts delicately on contact, unfurling a concentrated bouquet of orange blossom, jasmine grandiflorum, and centifolia rose absolutes in a way that feels genuinely intimate, like the fragrance is blooming from within rather than sitting on top of you.
The finish is pure Dior theatre: clear and illuminated with golden glitter that leaves a subtle iridescent sheen on skin, while the case itself carries the J'ADIOR signature in bold golden metal letters. It is a couture accessory as much as a fragrance, and it wears like one too.
Layer it over the J'adore EDP for a scent that holds beautifully through a full Singapore day, or wear it alone when you want something softer and more skin-close.
Who it's for: The maximalist who wants their fragrance ritual to feel undeniably luxurious.
Available at: Dior J'Adore L'Or Solid Perfume is priced at $189 and available at Dior Singapore boutiques and Sephora Singapore.
Chloé Atelier des Fleurs Solid Perfume – Your Understated Solid Fragrance
Part of Chloé's Atelier des Sens collection, the Atelier des Fleurs solid perfumes are a series of single-material-inspired fragrances crafted with at least 93% ingredients of natural origin. Each is vegan and housed in the line's signature ivory compact that is endlessly refillable, making them as considered in design as they are in formula. Cedrus by perfumer Quentin Bisch is built around cedar, vetiver, and sandalwood with an abstract floral at its heart; Magnolia Alba, a luminous, dewy white floral that captures the flower at its most transparent and fresh. There’s also the extension to much-loved Santalum, a warm, creamy sandalwood that is skin-close and fairly addictive.
Layer any of them with the matching Atelier des Fleurs EDP for a scent that holds beautifully through a full day without saying all that much.
Who it's for: The woody or floral fragrance lover who wants a nature-forward, sophisticated solid with serious depth.
Available at: Chloé Atelier des Fleurs Solid Perfumes are available for $95 at Sephora Singapore (online and in-stores).
Marc Jacobs Daisy Drops – Single-Dose Gel Capsules
Marc Jacobs took the solid format and invented Daisy Drops: single-dose gel fragrance capsules. Easy to use, and with 30 capsules to a tin, that you twist open, squeeze, and press onto skin. The formula is gel-like and alcohol-free, and the scents are fresh reinterpretations of the original Daisy range, including the signature Daisy (wild berries, white violet, jasmine, sandalwood), Daisy Eau So Fresh, and Daisy Love.
We love how the tin disappears into any bag, and the single-dose format means zero mess, zero waste, and a perfectly calibrated hit of long-lasting scent every time.
Who it's for: The Daisy loyalist who wants their signature scent in the most portable format possible.
Available at: Marc Jacobs Daisy Drops are priced at $40 and available at Sephora Singapore (online and in-stores).
Glossier You Solid – The Cult Skin-Scent Compact Worth Ordering In
If you are still to try it, Glossier’s You Solid is really worth the extra step of ordering internationally. The alcohol-free wax base melts into skin and holds fragrance close, making this solid perfume feel soft, warm, and intimate, almost like a natural extension of your own scent. Key notes are pink pepper, iris root, ambrette, and ambrox, a musky, skin-forward combination that smells different on everyone. Which is precisely its point.
The compact is refillable, travel-friendly, and sculpted to fit the curve of your palm, coated in pink enamel with a debossed Glossier logo. This is one of the most loved solid perfumes on the market and a perfect gateway into the format.
Who it's for: The minimalist who wants an understated, skin-scent solid that becomes truly personal.
Available at: From USD 35 (~SGD 47) and available on Amazon, with international shipping to Singapore.
Diptyque Solid Perfume – A Parisian Icon in Refillable Compact Form
Diptyque has been in the solid perfume game far longer than the current trend would suggest. With over six decades of fragrance history, the brand’s take on this format is as expected: restrained, refined, and extremely covetable. Inspired by the enfleurage technique used historically to capture the scent of flowers, each alcohol-free wax balm is applied with the fingertips and housed in a beautifully illustrated, refillable compact.
You’ve got five scents to pick from locally. Do Son, a delicate musky tuberose; Eau Capitale, a deep chypre rose that comes into its own in the evening; Orphéon, a warm woody floral with a bohemian spirit; Eau Rose, a lightly fruity floral ideal for daily wear; and L'Ombre dans L'Eau, a cool green blackcurrant and rose that is one of the house's most beloved classics.
Diptyque solid perfume wears particularly well in Singapore. In heat and humidity, it diffuses slowly and close to skin, so the result is something subtle yet ongoing.
Who it's for: The fragrance connoisseur who wants a solid with real heritage and long-lasting prowess without feeling overwhelming.
Available at: Diptyque solid perfume ($88) is available at Escentials Singapore, TANGS, and iShopChangi.
Lush Solid Perfume – The SGD 30 Affordable Version
At SGD 30, Lush's solid perfumes are the most accessible entry on our list, but deservedly so. Built on an organic jojoba oil base rather than wax, the texture is softer and more skin-melting than many pricier counterparts. Our recommendations for Singapore would be American Cream, a creamy gourmand blend of vanilla, and clary sage that wears like a warm, nostalgic skin scent; and Pansy, a green floral with orange flower, rosemary, and galbanum that is sharper, fresher, and amongst one of Lush's most underrated fragrances. Both wear intimately and develop well in our tropical heat.
While we love the formulation, we’d recommend picking yours in-store rather than ordering delivery. The jojoba-based formula is designed to melt on skin contact, which means a warm courier bag is not its friend.
Who it's for: Curious newcomers who enjoy fragrance layering, and anyone wanting a good solid perfume without the luxury price tag.
Available at: Available across Lush Singapore stores and lushsg.com.
After Blow Solid Perfume – The K-Beauty Solid That Melts Right Into Your Skin
After Blow is the Korean fragrance brand earning a cult following among Singapore's K-beauty crowd. The formula is designed to melt evenly on skin contact, enriched with plant-derived oil and shea butter for a moisturising finish that never goes on dry.
Each 6.5g stick is crafted by a world-class perfumer and undergoes an aging period post-manufacturing to develop a richer, more layered aroma.
The six scents cover a range of moods. Rose Bouquet (fruity rose deepened with musk) is the most romantic; Cotton Fog is soft and clean; Sugar Floral sits in crowd-pleasing floral-sweet territory; Forest Woody goes green and earthy; Cherry Soap is playful and fresh; and Love Potion leans warm and intimate. All are designed to harmonise with each person's individual skin chemistry, and each layers beautifully with the matching After Blow Eau de Parfum for extended wear.
Who it's for: The K-beauty fan who wants an affordable, skin-nourishing solid.
Available at: Available for $45 at Ksisters Singapore online and in-store at Wheelock Place.
