This year's fragrance launches skip the predictable. Cassette-laced fig, vanillas with backbone, and florals that have plenty to say
Ready for a new fragrance in 2026? Fragrance launches used to follow a predictable script but you’ll find this year's crop has less formula and more distinction.
We're seeing nature-led compositions that are easy to wear, celebrity fragrances that surprise and a league of niche perfumes with personality. The common thread? These are scents built to be worn, layered with your favourite others or simply added to your repertoire because they are deservedly distinct.
D.S. & Durga Debaser In Bloom – A Floral Fig with a Nostalgic Streak
Here's something rare: the ache of wanting to smell like a memory that isn't even yours. D.S. & Durga's Debaser in Bloom comes built around fig, gardenia, white currant, cream, and a note simply called "tapes" Yes, that’s cassette tapes, inspired by David Seth Moltz's preteen memories of skating home with a new Pixies tape, tearing off that crinkly wrapper, and pressing play on something new. Which is why Debaser in Bloom isn’t just a perfume, its a connection to transformation, the anticipation before your music hits.
What does that smell like? There is a tart snap from the currants and raspberry leaf, gentle green nuances folded into lactonic creaminess, and lush white florals that hold everything together with a sensual but never obvious musk. The fig here is not the brooding, serious version of the original Debaser. This one feels lighter on its feet, more floral while still staying fruity, with an ease that makes it far more wearable.
Then again, it is that “tapes” note that lingers in the mind. It is abstract, but somehow recognisable. It smells like the feeling of holding something physical that contains something intangible. Perhaps that same rush of skating home, something precious in hand, already knowing the day is about to change.
Best for: Anyone drawn to fig scents with a softer floral turn, and a nostalgia-soaked summer.
D.S. & Durga's Debaser in Bloom is available at Escentials Singapore and priced at $305 for 50ml and $435 for 100ml.
Bvlgari Eau Parfumée Thé Impérial – Black Tea with a Citrus Lift
Bvlgari's Eau Parfumée Thé Impérial began as the signature scent for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, and that origin still clings to it. It carries a clean, composed mood luxury hotel fragrances tend to nail: feeling expensive without announcing it. Now released more widely as part of the Eau Parfumée collection, it translates that same sense of effortless luxury into something meant for skin, not just ambiance.
Black tea anchors the composition, though it's handled with a lighter touch than one might expect. There's no smokiness here. Instead, lemon, mandarin, and bergamot lift it into brightness, keeping everything smooth and remarkably easy to wear. It smells like someone with great taste and no interest in proving it. The olfactory equivalent of understated confidence.
Best for: Anyone who likes citrus scents but wants something smoother, calmer and more grown-up than a standard cologne.
Bvlgari Eau Parfumée Thé Impérial Eau de Toilette is available for S$243 in 75ml at the Bvlgari counters islandwide as well as their online store.
Frédéric Malle Contre-Jour - A Modern Floral Woody with Spice
Frédéric Malle launched Éditions de Parfums on the idea that fragrance should work more like authorship. Two decades in, that approach still sets it apart. The house gives perfumers the freedom and budget to create something with a point of view, which in turn has driven a loyalty for anyone who enjoys niche exquisite scents.
Their newest launch, Contre-Jour is created by Annick Ménardo. It arrived after Heaven Can Wait in 2023, and like everything else in the collection, it feels character-led and artistic rather than designed for mass appeal.
The composition centres on everlasting flower, a note that brings dry, spicy warmth and a texture that immediately sets it apart from most floral launches. Rose adds depth through the heart, pulling things in a slightly darker, more sensual direction, while sandalwood rounds everything out with a creamy finish that sits close to skin but still registers. It's warm yet sharp, floral yet woody, polished without tipping into prettiness or safe territory.
Best for: This fragrance suits someone looking for something less obvious leaning towards modern niche perfumery. A modern floral woody scent with spice, warmth and an artful point of view.
Frédéric Malle Contre-Jour is available at escentials.com and Editions De Parfums Frédéric Malle stores in Singapore, for $447 for 50ml and $635 for 100ml.
Acqua di Parma Buongiorno La Collezione – Celebrate the Italian Art of Living
If you are nostalgic for an Italian morning, soft light and the small pleasures that make a day feel beautiful, Acqua di Parma Buongiorno La Collezione will hit the spot. Created for the Maison’s 110th anniversary, the collection introduces five Eaux de Parfum that explore a more intimate side of the Italian Art of Living. These are designed as skin scents, so the effect stays close, personal and tactile rather than loud.
The five fragrances each capture a different everyday gesture or mood. Buongiorno Al Bacio feels bright and affectionate, with orange flower water, cedarwood, incense and white woods. Our favourite, Buongiorno Amore Mio has the tenderness of a morning hug, pairing Italian cotton accord, bergamot and iris for a clean, comforting finish.
Buongiorno Dolce Far Niente leans into the pleasure of doing nothing under a lemon tree, with citrus, lemon leaf and lemon wood accord, while Buongiorno Gioco del Destino brings more energy through toasted wheat, Italian green mandarin, yellow mandarin, Sicilian lemon and musk. Buongiorno Buonanotte is softer and calmer, with iris, musk and Calabrian bergamot evoking the first light of day on skin.
Composed by Fabrice Pellegrin and Olivia Giacobetti, the collection balances delicacy with depth, keeping the scents transparent but still long-lasting. The bottles also bring a joyful visual shift for Acqua di Parma, with ridged glass inspired by the Maison’s 2008 Profumo bottle and colourful glass caps in shades of Aqua Green, Parma Yellow, Tangerine Orange, Crimson Red and Citrine Yellow.
Best for: Soft, intimate skin scents with a sunny Italian mood. In-store trials are highly recommended so you can choose your own personal trail.
Acqua di Parma Buongiorno La Collezione is available exclusively at Acqua di Parma Raffles City boutique, #01-07.
DKNY Be Delicious Pistachio Latte – A Pistachio Gourmand
DKNY’s Be Delicious Pistachio Latte the café-inspired trend without turning overly thick or sugary. Pistachio lovers, this is the clear hook here, but it is handled in a lighter, more playful way. And in spite of that, the scent feels more like a creamy pick-me-up than a heavy dessert. That makes it easier to wear than the name first suggests, especially for anyone who likes gourmand perfumes but still wants something bright and uncomplicated.
The pistachio opening gives it that nutty warmth straight away, while peony softens the middle and keeps the fragrance from feeling too edible. Then marshmallow comes through in the dry down, adding a smooth, sweet finish that feels cosy without becoming cloying.
Best for: Teens who are having a coffee moment or in fact anyone that loves a pistachio warmth.
DKNY Be Delicious Pistachio Latte EDP is available for S$89 in 50ml at TANGS Singapore.
Dolce&Gabbana The One - A Bold Relaunch of the Best-Selling Fragrance
This season, Dolce&Gabbana has relaunched The One with a new campaign starring Madonna and Alberto Guerra. The mood is dark, glamorous and cinematic, exactly what you'd expect from a franchise built on sensuality and presence. Rather than pushing a single scent, the relaunch centres on two expressions: one for him, one for her, each carrying that same bold, seductive signature.
The One For Men Parfum takes the familiar DNA in a deeper, warmer direction. It opens with black pepper and tarocco orange before labdanum and tobacco move in, adding richness and a more enveloping quality through the base. This is an ambery spicy fragrance with proper staying power, the kind that leans smooth and evening-appropriate without feeling too heavy. Masculine, polished, but not aggressively so. It works well for anyone who wants something with presence that doesn't announce itself from across the room.
On the women's side, The One Eau de Parfum Intense sits firmly in floral amber territory. Pink pepper gives it an initial spark, jasmine softens things through the middle, then creamy vanilla and warm amber settle in and leave a fuller, longer trail on skin. This isn't your typical wispy floral. It's richer, more concentrated, designed to make an impact. The bottle follows suit: glamorous, high-impact, unapologetically evening-focused. Best suited to anyone who likes their florals with weight, warmth and a bit more intensity than usual.
Best for: A warm, spicy men's fragrance with tobacco depth and after-dark appeal or a sultry floral amber with jasmine and vanilla warmth.
Available at Metro Singapore, with The One For Men Parfum in 50ml for S$175 and The One Eau de Parfum Intense starting at S$145 for 30ml.
KAYALI Eden Sweet Peach | 35 & Eden Plush Pear | 23 - Feel-Good Fruity Florals
Are you a fan of fruity-florals and pretty bottles? KAYALI's Eden collection gets two new additions this year, and both lean into delicious fruity floral territory. The two new scents are designed as mood-boosters, for when you want to feel uplifted rather than make a statement. Mona Kattan, the founder, built both around nostalgia and happiness, which explains the bright, playful energy they share.
Eden Sweet Peach | 35 is the juicier, bolder option of the two. It's built around the duality of peaches: bright and radiant on one side, soft and velvety on the other. The opening hits with sweet apple, red apple and bergamot, giving it an immediate fruity punch. Freesia, rose, jasmine, nectarine and frangipani move through the heart, adding a tropical floral layer without losing the fruit-forward character. The base brings in oakmoss, patchouli, vanilla, praline, musk, amberwood and sheer tonka, plus KAYALI's signature accord. It dries down sweeter and creamier than it starts, with enough vanilla and praline to push it into gourmand territory.
Eden Plush Pear | 23 takes a softer, more nostalgic route. It opens with plush pear, mandarin and bergamot for a dewy, fresh-fruit start. Orange blossom, freesia and gardenia anchor the heart, keeping things floral but light. The base mirrors Sweet Peach with oakmoss, patchouli, vanilla, praline, musk, amberwood, sheer tonka and KAYALI's signature accord. The vanilla caviar note adds a creamy richness that sits close to skin. This one wears more delicate, less about immediate sweetness and more about gentle, lingering warmth.
Both bottles come in vibrant lacquered glass with KAYALI's signature diamond shape and jeweled cap, inspired by traditional Middle Eastern oud bottles. The numbers indicate how many rounds of formulation it took to get each scent right: 35 for Sweet Peach, 23 for Plush Pear.
Best for: Fruity florals with juicy peach or soft pear, tropical and delicate florals, and creamy vanilla bases. They're designed to be worn alone or layered together if you want something even more fruit-heavy.
KAYALI Eden Sweet Peach | 35 and Eden Plush Pear | 23 are available at Sephora Singapore and priced at S$53 for 10ml, S$165 for 50ml, and S$228 for 100ml.
Creed Wild Vetiver - A Vetiver Expression Off the Beaten Path
Creed's Wild Vetiver takes the house's vetiver heritage and gives it a less predictable spin. This is a vetiver with a restless edge. It is inspired by an English garden party that's wandered off the lawn into the parts nobody bothers to trim.
The opening comes through with timur berry, bergamot and pink pepper. Timur berry is hand-harvested, a less common ingredient that brings a peppery, citrusy brightness. Rose centifolia anchors the heart, supported by geranium and blackcurrant bud. The rose here isn't the soft, powdery kind you find in most florals. It reads heavier, more like an actual garden rose with thorns and heft. Geranium adds a green, slightly bitter quality, while blackcurrant bud keeps things from getting too pretty.
Vetiver takes over at the base, doing what it does best: earthy, woody, grounding. It's joined by cedarwood and amberwood, which round out the drydown and keep the composition from feeling too traditional or soapy.
The bottle comes in green glass, shaped like Creed's signature hip flask. It's simple without being fussy, and the colour nods to the whole garden-gone-wild idea.
We love the longevity, alongside a vetiver-base that’s not too clean or too safe.
Best for: Anyone who wants something green and woody with a modern edge.
Creed Wild Vetiver is available at Escentials and select retailers in Singapore, priced at S$598 for 100ml and $420 for 50ml.
L:a Bruket Fragrance Collection - Three Atmospheric Scents Inspired by Swedish Landscape
L:a Bruket's first fragrance collection feels like a natural extension to the brand. Swedish skincare, minimal formulas, nature-led approach. Of course the scents would follow the same logic. The line draws on Nordic folklore, forests, rain and meadow air, translating that into three eaux de parfum that feel atmospheric and elemental. All three are built with over 90 per cent natural ingredients and share geosmin, the molecule that gives you that petrichor smell after rainfall.
Each scent takes a different path through that landscape. Övernatur leans woody, earthy and aromatic, with fir needles, patchouli, oakmoss lichen, forest earth and spruce resin creating the feeling of damp forest air after rainfall. Blixt moves into mineral territory, pairing charged ozone, black powder, wood resin, rain-soaked stone and warm amber for something cooler, sharper and more electric.
Dísir is the softest of the three, a watery floral with iris bloom, cucumber essence, rice steam, powdery musk and meadow dew that gives it a clean, almost translucent morning quality. The bottles carry that same mood, with sculptural glass inspired by Swedish ceramic forms and biodegradable wood and cork caps that feel raw and simple.
Best for: Anyone drawn to genderless fragrances with a nature-led point of view, especially scents that feel moody, minimalist and a little unusual.
L:a Bruket Fragrance Collection is available at Escentials Singapore online and across its boutiques at Paragon, ION Orchard and TANGS Plaza.
Ferragamo Signorina Romantica Eau de Parfum - Sweet Italian Elegance with a Gourmand Edge
Now if you're after a sweet, feminine fragrance this summer, Ferragamo's Signorina Romantica delivers both via notes and its beautiful bottle. This is a floriental gourmand that leans into warmth and sweetness while keeping that polished Italian edge the house is known for. It opens bright and playful before settling into something creamier on skin.
It starts with black currant, lemon and rum, which gives it a fruity, slightly boozy opening. Orange blossom, neroli and Anginetti cookie move through the heart, bringing sweetness without tipping into sugar overdose. The base brings vanilla bean, benzoin, sandalwood, musk and amber to give the scent depth and a smoother finish. It wears well for dates, dinners or anywhere you want a bit more presence.
This fragrance is perfect for her if she loves florals but wants a gourmand edge rather than something airy or powdery. It's feminine, easy to wear, sweet enough to feel playful.
Best for: A romantic gourmand floral with a soft, creamy finish.
Ferragamo Signorina Romantica Eau de Parfum is available at Takashimaya Singapore and other department stores in Singapore, and priced at $195 for 100ml.
Kylie Cosmetics Cosmic Intense - A Bolder Take on Celebrity Vanilla
Kylie Jenner's Cosmic Intense takes the original Cosmic formula and melts it into something warmer, sweeter and more concentrated. If you liked the first one, this goes further in the same direction: ambery gourmand notes, creamy vanilla, and a formula designed to last longer.
Blood orange and star jasmine give it a bright, almost sparkling opening while golden amber and benzoin take over through the middle, adding weight and warmth. By the time it dries down, vanilla and musk dominate, leaving that creamy trail that is noticeable without being loud. The bottle comes in fiery red sculptural glass, fun to keep on your dresser or gift to someone on your list. The range of sizes means you can test it out with the 10ml pen spray before committing to a full bottle.
Best for: Fans of sweet, warm vanilla perfumes with a deeper amber edge.
Cosmic Intense is available in 30ml for S$80, 50ml for S$100, 100ml for S$125, and a 10ml pen spray for S$40 at the Kylie Cosmetics store at Bugis Junction and select Sephora stores islandwide, including ION Orchard, NEX, Takashimaya Shopping Centre, VivoCity, Bugis+, Raffles City and Causeway Point.
OUAI Ibiza & Santorini Hair & Body Fragrance Mists - Scents That Smell Like Vacation
OUAI's new Ibiza and Santorini Hair & Body Fragrance Mists do exactly what their names suggest. They smell like a holiday, bottled. Designed for both hair and body, these fragrance mists are ideal for quick refreshes through the day when a concentrated perfume might feel like too much.
Ibiza goes warm and sweet with cocoa, sugar, tonka, vanilla, cinnamon and a splash of rum. It smells like late nights and beach clubs, like a sundowner in a bottle. Santorini takes a brighter route: peach, grapefruit and orange up top, then honeysuckle and amber soften it into something breezier and more Mediterranean. It's lighter, more daytime, better suited to throwing on in the morning.
Neither of these are particularly complex or long-lasting, but that's not really the point. They're meant to be easy, layerable, the kind of thing you spray liberally without worrying about wasting expensive perfume.
Best for: Holiday-inspired hair and body scents with an easy, everyday feel
The OUAI Ibiza and Santorini Hair & Body Fragrance Mists are available exclusively at Sephora Singapore stores islandwide and online at Sephora.sg, priced at S$46 for Ibiza and S$48 for Santorini, both in 97ml sizes.
