Explore Art, AI and Technology at ArtScience Museum's Free Festival, Until 6 December
Can technology make our lives better without taking over them? That is one of the questions behind In the Ether: The Rise of Sanctuary Technologies, a free festival at ArtScience Museum exploring the relationship between people, machines and the digital world.
Running until 6 December, the festival brings together interactive artworks, installations, talks and workshops that examine how technology can support creativity, independence and everyday wellbeing.
One of the highlights is Mimus, an industrial robot arm transformed into a curious, responsive installation by roboticist and artist Dr Madeline Gannon. Instead of performing repetitive factory tasks, the robot reacts to human movement and presence, creating an unexpected encounter between visitors and a machine.
Other works explore artificial intelligence, digital systems and the ways technology shapes how we see and interact with the world. There are also opportunities to join hands-on workshops, with advance registration required for selected sessions.
With free admission, this is an easy cultural outing to add to a Marina Bay visit, especially for families with older children, art enthusiasts and anyone curious about the future of technology.
When: 3 October to 6 December 2026, 9am to 6pm daily
Where: ArtScience Museum, 6 Bayfront Avenue, Marina Bay Sands
Why go: Explore interactive technology installations, encounter a responsive industrial robot and join workshops at a free art and science festival.
